Business Aviator Serial & Lot Tracking

Serial & Lot Tracking

One of our most requested recent feature additions was adding support for Serial Number and Lot Number tracking. The latest version of Business Aviator supports both of these! Users can make an item require serial and/or lot numbers and get prompted to enter those during all inventory transactions including transfers and adjustments.

If an item is assigned a unique identifier (which can be letters, numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers), it is a serial-number–tracked item. If an item is part of a group and the group is assigned a unique identifier, the items are lot-number–tracked items.

Serial Number Support Features Include:

  • Mark items to “Require Serial” and the item will prompt throughout the system to specify serial numbers when any inventory operation occurs.
  • Assign serial numbers to Purchase Orders and Sales Orders, so they can be pre-defined and pass-through when receiving and invoicing.
  • Inventory adjustments, transfers and assembly item building/breaking will prompt for the associated serial or lot numbers.
  • A "Serial Number Detail Screen” provides the means to open and managed serialized assemblies, which can have component item numbers modified and a user-defined status assigned.

Lot Number Support Includes:

  • Items can have the lot number marked as "Required".
  • Lot numbers can be attached to purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Lot numbers can be received in the receiving screen.
  • Lot numbers can be sold on sales documents and returned on credits.
  • Lot numbers can be attached during Building & Breaking Assembly Items that have items contained which require lot numbers.
  • Inventory adjustments involving item numbers that require lots will automatically prompt to have the lot number entered.
  • Include lot number/batch/quantity in line item details when lot numbers are added to a line.
  • A Lot Number Details Report that displays all detailed history of a given Lot Number.
  • The ability to make an Assembly Item "Require Lot#".
