Business Aviator Version 2.1 New Features

Version 2.1 of Business Aviator introduces a myriad of useful features. Some of these features can only be found in extremely cost-prohibitive inventory software!

For information regarding features found in the previous version 2.0 update, click here.

Feature Additions in Business Aviator v2.01 - 2.06

  • Added the ability to lookup customer sales & sales orders using the context sensitive reporting from sales & credit forms.
  • Added Screen-Locking to Sales Orders, Credit Orders and Purchase Orders. The screen-locking will prevent more than one user from accessing the same order at the same time.
  • Added an "Unlock" that can be used to clear all screens locked by a users login. This may be necessary if the user end-tasks Business Aviator or some non-properly-disposed method is used while an order is still open.
  • Added additional information to the items received by date report including Sales Order Number (if applicable) and Qty Committed (if applicable).
  • Added a total field to the receiving ( PO) screen so the total is quickly accessible.
  • Updated the multi-location sales form to automatically save when an item is removed that had initiated a reservation.
  • Added the ability to access & open an associated sales order by right-clicking an invoice or sales receipt in the sales search screen.
  • Added an order number lookup feature if the invoice or sales receipt number is known, accessible from the Tasks -> Sales menu.
  • Added configuration options to Credit Order to block taxable box, set a default ship date and prompt when the ship date is set to today.
  • Added the ability to email any report if the SMTP service is installed on the computer trying to send the email (All Windows XP professional computers have the ability to install this service). Just Right-Click on the report to use this feature.
  • Changed locked lines (billed/invoiced/etc) to dark blue so they're more distinguishable on all monitors than the prior Slate-Gray color.
  • Added the ability to sort by any column on the inventory transfer and transfer receiving screens.
  • Added the ability to apply package pricing to a sales order via the Options menu. The items that are part of the package should be left "checked" and the package price should be input. Click "calculate" to calculate the package pricing and then "Apply" to commit the changes.
  • Updated the sales order and credit order shipping reports so they do not show items that have already been invoiced. Items should not be invoiced until delivered if you're using the sales order or credit order shipping reports.
  • Added a configuration option that when enabled prompts the user asking if a line removed from sales order should have a committed PO quantity uncommitted. Previously this was mandatory when pulling the line off and this option enables provision of a choice.

Feature Additions in Business Aviator v2.06 - 2.07 include

  • Added lookup (QuickFind) ability to the customer screen.
  • Provided a means to search for inactive customers from the customer screen & allow them to be opened from there so they can be re-activated.
  • Implemented the import of QuickBooks® date-driven terms when Business Aviator is integrated with QuickBooks® so they can be assigned in Business Aviator. The terms are not used beyond assignment for import into QuickBooks®.
  • Added a "Global Note Item" item type. This can be created from Tasks -> Items -> New Global Note Item
  • Global Note Item's write back to all sales orders when added to a purchase order that has items committed from sales order(s).
  • Automated the creation of backorders updating lines committed from sales orders to the new backorder. Previously the committed lines remained linked to the old PO even though the items may have been added to backorder on a new PO.
  • Added the ability to view Sales Orders committed to a purchase order from the purchase order via the Options menu. Just open a purchase order and access the options menu to utilize this feature.
  • Updated the purchase order creation from sales orders so PO's aren't generated for items that have been committed to an existing purchase order already.
  • Added initial data classes for buying clubs.
  • Added storage of assigned vendor cost of an item to "line_baserate" when saving a purchase order. This will provide a mechanism to display whether a discount was taken on purchase order reports.
  • Added "Smart" combobox to the sales order, credit order and purchase order screens. This combobox that has look-forward capability as the user types.
  • Updated all sales order, credit order and purchase order forms to prevent the customer or vendor from being changed after the initial save. This is to prevent changing a customer or vendor after the document has been saved using that customer or vendors pricing & tax-applicable.
  • Implemented the ability to apply "Markup's" to a unit of measure in the Cost & Pricing Advanced screen.
  • Implement a custom sales order form (Sales Order Distribution UoM) that includes Unit of Measure assignable on the line items.

    • The price is re-calculated based on the factor reduction (or increase) from stock unit and any markup assigned when a unit of measure is chosen from the dropdown box.
  • Added "Buying Club’s" for use in conjunction with unit of measure and the new Sales Order Distribution UoM form (assignable in location setup). Members of a buying club can get "Stock Unit" pricing (avoiding Markup's) when the buying club purchases at-least 1 Stock-Unit within the number of days specified for the Buying Club.

  • Updated sales orders, sales receipts and invoices so that when a purchase order quantity is committed for a special order item, the cost on the purchase order is used when the transaction is saved.
    • Note: this does not currently automatically update when the cost on the purchase order is changed. The update occurs when the sales transaction is saved.
  • Added the ability to attach to incoming purchase orders from any sales order form. Just right-click a line item on any sales order and choose "View Open PO’s"; to get a list of Purchase Orders Open for the specified item.

  • Updated UoM sales order to automatically set UoM display to the stock unit of measure.
  • Updated Item Category Pricing so it no longer requires the user to "Check" the checkboxes of items that will be "Included" in the pricing group. This is now done automatically based on whether or not the item has a special pricing formula assigned in the group.
  • Updated Promotion Pricing to work like the Category Pricing does now; automatically checking the checkbox to include items with a formula in the group.
  • Added a "Buying Club Members" report accessible from the options menu in the Buying Club screen.
  • Added the ability to define whether or not an item is taxable based on the state. For this feature to be used, the item must be defined as non-taxable, and then the state-specific-taxation can be defined as taxable (checked) or non-taxable (unchecked).
  • Updated sales saving process to set cost to last-landed cost for sales order line items. This will at least provide some information about margins (albeit not entirely accurate until the order is invoiced) on sales orders.

  • Added a "Credits" and "Credit Orders Open" report to the context-sensitive item specific reports.
  • Added a "Damaged Inventory" report that shows items that have been marked as damaged at the current logged-in location.
  • Customers that currently have an open sales order will now display as highlighted in RED on a sales order document. This will provide a quick way during creation of a new sales order to see if a customer already has a sales order open in the system.

  • Updated the help file to include more How-to information about the latest features!
